The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted a significant special session at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, focusing on Andhra Pradesh's ambitious 'Swarna Andhra@2047' vision and India's broader pursuit of a green industrial future. The session brought together prominent figures, including Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, to discuss the state's transformative growth strategy and its contribution to India's global economic ambitions. Naidu emphasized India's remarkable economic journey since the 1991 reforms, highlighting the nation's potential to become a leading global economy by 2047, driven by technological innovation, a burgeoning young population, and a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit. He underscored the significant role of Indian entrepreneurs, particularly those from Andhra Pradesh, in shaping the global economic landscape.

N Chandrasekaran, Executive Chairman of Tata Sons and Co-Chair of the Task Force on Economic Development for Swarna Andhra Pradesh @ 2047, provided detailed insights into the 'Swarna Andhra Pradesh' plan. This comprehensive strategy, based on a '4P' model encompassing public, private, people, and partnerships, aims to drive sustainable economic growth and job creation within the state. The plan outlines specific targets and initiatives across multiple sectors to achieve these objectives. The session also witnessed the launch of the CII Centre for Global Leadership on Competitiveness (GLC), a significant initiative aimed at fostering value-based leadership, enhancing corporate governance, and nurturing global leadership competencies, both nationally and within Andhra Pradesh. This center, to be established in Amaravati, will be entirely industry-led and managed, directly addressing the needs of industries.

The collaboration between CII and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, as highlighted by CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, underscores a long-standing commitment to the state's development. The partnership also extends internationally, evidenced by an Exchange of Letter of Intent between CII and the IMD Business School in Switzerland, marking the first such agreement for the GLC. This international collaboration will enhance the GLC's reach and expertise, further strengthening its capacity to contribute to global leadership development. The Davos session extended beyond Andhra Pradesh's vision, delving into the crucial topic of 'Pathway to India's Green Industrialisation: From Green Hydrogen to Green Manufacturing'. This segment, organized in association with Ernst & Young (EY), emphasized the imperative of green energy transition for India's continued economic growth.

Rajiv Memani, President Designate of CII and Chairman and CEO of EY India, highlighted the critical role of green energy in achieving India's ambitious growth targets. He stressed that meeting the projected energy demands by 2047 requires a significant shift towards renewable sources, given India's current reliance on energy imports. The transition to green energy is not merely a sustainability goal but a vital catalyst for achieving India's economic aspirations. The session also featured presentations by prominent figures from various sectors, including Sajjan Jindal (JSW Group), Dr David Bach (IMD Business School), G B S Raju (GMR Group), Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty (Greenko Group), and Hans-Olav Raen (Yara Clean Ammonia). Their contributions underscored the diverse perspectives and collaborative efforts needed to achieve both Andhra Pradesh's ambitious vision and India's broader green industrialization goals. The overall message emanating from the Davos session was one of collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth, positioning both Andhra Pradesh and India as key players in the global economic and environmental landscape.

The 'Swarna Andhra@2047' vision, presented at Davos, is not merely an economic blueprint but a strategic roadmap for sustainable and inclusive development. By embracing innovation and partnerships, Andhra Pradesh aims to leverage its strengths, particularly in technology and entrepreneurship, to achieve significant economic progress. The commitment to green industrialization aligns with global efforts to combat climate change, highlighting a responsible and sustainable approach to economic development. The establishment of the CII Centre for Global Leadership on Competitiveness signifies a concerted effort to build a strong leadership pipeline, equipped to navigate the complexities of the globalized economy. The international collaborations demonstrated in the session underscore the global significance of Andhra Pradesh's vision and India's overall commitment to a sustainable and prosperous future.
