Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a rally at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai, on Thursday, November 14th. This event comes ahead of the Maharashtra state elections, scheduled for November 20th. With a large gathering anticipated, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory to minimize disruption to vehicular movement. The advisory warns of potential traffic congestion from the Airport to Dadar, especially along the Western Express Highway (WEH) and roads connecting the Sea Link to Worli and Shivaji Park, during the evening hours.
The advisory includes a detailed list of roads with parking restrictions, highlighting 14 specific areas where parking will be prohibited. These include key routes surrounding Shivaji Park, such as SVS Road, Kelakar Road, M.B. Raut Marg, and Pandurang Naik Marg. Additionally, the advisory outlines traffic regulations for specific roads and alternative routes for commuters navigating these affected areas. The SVS Road Northbound, for instance, will be restricted from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction, with alternative routes directed through S.K. Bole Road and Agar Bazar.
The advisory also provides instructions for attendees of the rally, outlining designated drop-off points and parking locations based on their arrival routes. For attendees traveling from the western and northern suburbs via the Western Express Highway, the designated drop-off point is on Senapati Bapat Road, with parking options at Mahim Reti Bander, Kohinoor PPL Parking, India Bulls Finance Center PPL parking, Kamagar Stadium, and Senapati Bapat Road itself. Similar instructions are provided for attendees arriving from other areas, including eastern suburbs and south Mumbai, with various designated parking locations across the city.
