Shreyas Srinivasan, the driving force behind Paytm's ticketing platform Insider.in, has made the decision to leave the company. His role at Paytm was that of Chief Product Officer (CPO) and head of consumer products, a position he held since April 2022. His departure comes two months after Paytm's ticketing business was acquired by Deepinder Goyal's Zomato in a deal worth Rs 2,048 crore, marking a significant shift in the landscape of the digital payments firm.
Srinivasan's final day at Paytm was Monday, August 2024. He played a key role at Paytm, boasting a career spanning over a decade in the tech and live entertainment sectors. In his LinkedIn post, Srinivasan acknowledged that August was his last month with Insider, stating, "In August, when the deal between Zomato and Paytm Entertainment closed, It felt like the right time to take a break, fix tech debt of my body and re-discover a passion I can chase for the next 2 decades."
Srinivasan's journey with Insider.in began in 2014 when he was appointed as the founder and CEO of the division after it was launched by Only Much Louder (OML), where he served as director since 2010. Prior to his foray into the entertainment sector, Srinivasan held a position as a Software Engineer at Novell in 2004, showcasing his deep-rooted expertise in technology. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University. In 2017, Paytm acquired Insider.in for Rs 35 crore, with Srinivasan remaining as the CEO of the division. Subsequently, his responsibilities expanded in April 2022 when he was appointed as the CPO and head of consumer products at Paytm, showcasing his leadership capabilities and strategic vision within the company.
