The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) announced the results of the Bihar Police Constable written examination, revealing that over one lakh candidates successfully cleared the test. This exam, conducted in August, was aimed at filling 21,391 vacancies within the Bihar Police force, encompassing various units such as the District Police, Bihar Special Armed Police, and other Constable Cadre units. A total of 12 lakh candidates took the exam, representing a significant portion of the 1,78,7720 applicants who initially submitted their applications.
The successful candidates, numbering 1,07,079, have now secured their place in the next stage of the recruitment process: the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The CSBC has not yet released the schedule for the PET, but it has confirmed that all successful candidates must participate. The PET will assess candidates' physical fitness and agility, crucial for fulfilling the demanding roles within the police force.
The written exam results were categorized based on reservation criteria, highlighting the diverse representation among the successful candidates. The Non-reserved category (UR) had 42,780 successful candidates, followed by the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) with 10,700, the Scheduled Caste (SC) with 17,000, the Scheduled Tribe (ST) with 1,140, the Extremely Backward Class (EBC) with 19,210, the Backward Class (BC) with 2,850 (including 56 transgender candidates), and the Backward Class Women (BCW) with 3,275 successful candidates.
