  • Anmol accused of motivating shooters in Salman Khan attack

The Mumbai Crime Branch has initiated the extradition process for Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol is a key figure in several high-profile criminal cases in India, including the recent firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence and the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has placed Anmol on its most-wanted list, offering a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information leading to his arrest.

The extradition proposal was triggered by confirmation from US authorities that Anmol Bishnoi is currently in the United States. Mumbai police have received information about his whereabouts and have officially forwarded the extradition proposal to relevant authorities. Anmol faces more than 17 criminal cases in India, including serious allegations related to the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. He is accused of supplying the firearms used in several high-profile killings, including the weapons involved in the murder of former NCP leader Baba Siddique.

Anmol is accused of maintaining contact with individuals involved in these crimes via social media, allegedly operating from both Canada and the US. Investigations have revealed that Anmol allegedly played a crucial role in the Salman Khan shooting incident, motivating the shooters with a dramatic nine-minute speech, urging them to “create history.” Evidence suggests that Anmol orchestrated various criminal operations on behalf of his brother, Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently incarcerated in Sabarmati jail. The Mumbai police have made significant progress in the case, having arrested ten individuals related to Baba Siddique’s murder, including two shooters and an arms supplier.

In a significant development, the Mumbai Crime Branch has approached the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court, expressing its intention to initiate the extradition process for Anmol Bishnoi. The court has allowed the police to file an affidavit for further necessary action. Both Bishnoi brothers are implicated in the April 14 firing incident outside Salman Khan's residence in Bandra, where a group of assailants carried out the attack. Several individuals involved in the incident have been arrested, and investigations continue.

The chargesheet related to the shooting incident explicitly names both Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi as wanted accused. Additionally, in connection with Baba Siddique’s murder, 15 individuals have been arrested, further pointing to the Bishnoi brothers' potential involvement. Lawrence Bishnoi remains in Sabarmati jail, where he continues to be a focal point of ongoing investigations. The extradition process for Anmol Bishnoi is a significant step in the efforts to bring him to justice for his alleged involvement in these high-profile crimes.
