In a fiery speech delivered during a campaign rally in Jharkhand's Garhwa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the ruling coalition government led by Hemant Soren. Modi accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress alliance of actively aiding infiltrators from Bangladesh, posing a grave threat to the tribal population of the state. He branded the coalition a 'ghuspaithiya bandhan' (infiltrators' alliance) and a 'mafia ka ghulam' (mafia's slave), accusing them of prioritizing appeasement politics over the well-being of the indigenous people.
Modi's accusations centered around the alleged support the ruling coalition provides to Bangladeshi infiltrators settling in Jharkhand. He claimed that this support is driven by political expediency, and that if the coalition's policies continue, the tribal population in Jharkhand will face severe consequences, potentially leading to a decline in their numbers. This, he stated, poses a significant threat to the tribal community and the nation as a whole.
The Prime Minister further alleged that the ruling coalition is allowing infiltrators to settle in the state to gain votes. He contrasted the BJP's approach, highlighting their commitment to the welfare of the people of Jharkhand. Modi introduced the Jharkhand BJP's new manifesto, emphasizing their pledge to provide 'suvidha' (facilities), 'suraksha' (security), 'sthirta' (stability), and 'samriddhi' (prosperity), which he branded as 'Modi's guarantee.' This manifesto includes the Gogo Didi scheme, promising women Rs 2,100 per month, and the 'Yuva Sathi Bhatta' program offering unemployment allowances of Rs 2,000 for youth.
Modi accused the JMM, Congress, and RJD of making false promises and failing to deliver on their commitments to women and the people of Jharkhand during their previous five years in power. He further alleged that they are now merely copying the BJP's manifesto, indicating their lack of genuine concern for the state's welfare. He predicted a certain defeat for the coalition in the upcoming elections, attributing their impending downfall to their betrayal of the poor and their reliance on deceptive tactics.
This visit marks PM Modi's first campaign rally in Jharkhand since the announcement of the assembly elections, which are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 13 and 20. The counting of votes is set to begin on November 23. The accusations leveled by Modi against the ruling coalition are likely to intensify the already heated campaign atmosphere in Jharkhand, adding a layer of political intrigue to the upcoming polls.
