A disturbing case of alleged medical negligence has come to light in Greater Noida, India, where a seven-year-old boy underwent surgery on the wrong eye. The incident, which occurred at Anand Spectrum Hospital in Sector Gamma 1, has sparked outrage and prompted calls for accountability. The boy's parents have accused the hospital of performing the wrong surgery and have filed a complaint demanding the cancellation of the doctor's license and the sealing of the hospital.

According to the parents, their son, Yudhishthir, was taken to the hospital on November 12th for treatment of his left eye, which was experiencing excessive watering. The doctors diagnosed a foreign object in his eye and recommended surgery. After obtaining parental consent, the surgery was performed on the same day. However, upon returning home, the parents noticed that their son's left eye, the affected one, had not been operated on. They rushed their son to another eye hospital, where it was confirmed that no surgery had been performed on his left eye.

The parents, alleging fraud, confronted the hospital where the surgery was conducted and filed a complaint with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Buddha Nagar. The father, in his complaint, expressed his outrage and demanded the cancellation of the doctor's license, alleging that the hospital had charged Rs 45,000 for the surgery without providing the necessary treatment. The incident has raised serious concerns about the quality of healthcare in the region and has highlighted the need for greater transparency and accountability within the medical profession.

The case is currently under investigation, and authorities are looking into the allegations of medical negligence. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of thorough medical examinations, informed consent, and accurate documentation during surgical procedures. It also emphasizes the need for patients to be vigilant and to seek second opinions if they have any doubts or concerns about their medical treatment.
