The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for heavy rainfall and dense fog in various parts of India over the next few days. The weather pattern is changing rapidly across the country, with cold winds and the effects of winter becoming more prominent.
In Tamil Nadu, heavy rainfall is expected in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Ranipet, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar and Madurai on Wednesday, November 13. Along with heavy rains, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal will likely experience lightning thunderstorms. This weather pattern is attributed to a low-pressure area over the southwest and adjoining west-central part of the Bay of Bengal.
The IMD has also issued a warning for light rain with thunder and lightning in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema from November 13 to 16. Heavy rains are also expected in Kerala and Mahe from November 13 to 17, and in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on November 13 and 14.
Moving north, dense fog is expected to prevail in different areas of Punjab till November 14 during late night and morning. Similar conditions are expected in Himachal Pradesh till November 17 and in parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh till November 15.
