The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) 2024 results have been declared, revealing a 50.79% pass rate among the 3.6 lakh candidates who took the exam. This means that 1,87,256 candidates have successfully cleared the test, making them eligible for teaching positions in Andhra Pradesh. The AP TET is a crucial step in the state's teacher recruitment process, with the scores contributing 20% of the total weightage for final selection. The remaining 80% is determined by the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) written exam.

To qualify for AP TET, candidates need to secure a minimum score of 60%. However, the minimum qualifying score varies for different categories. Candidates belonging to the BC category must achieve 50% or higher, while SC, ST, differently-abled, and ex-servicemen category candidates need to score at least 40%. The AP TET 2024 exams were conducted over a period of 19 days, from October 3 to 21, in two daily sessions: one in the morning from 9.30 am to noon, and the other in the afternoon from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. The initial answer key for the exam was released on October 4, with candidates allowed to raise objections from October 5 onwards. After reviewing these submissions, the final answer key was published on October 30.

The AP TET Paper I is designed for those seeking to teach classes 1 to 5, while Paper II caters to those aspiring to teach classes 6 to 8. Both papers consist of five sections: child development and pedagogy, language 1, English, and two subject-specific sections. The first three sections have 30 multiple-choice questions each, while the subject-specific sections contain 60 questions. Each question carries one mark, making the total score for Paper I and Paper II 150 marks. The passing certificate issued by the AP TET is valid for a lifetime, providing candidates with a long-term advantage in their pursuit of a teaching career.
