A tragic incident unfolded in Mehsana, Gujarat on Saturday, leaving six workers dead after a wall collapsed at a private construction site near Jasalpur village. The collapse occurred around 1:45 pm, burying several workers under the debris. The incident occurred near Kadi town, approximately 37 kilometers from the Mehsana district headquarters. Workers were engaged in digging a pit for an underground tank at a factory in Jasalpur village when loose soil caved in, trapping them.

Immediate rescue operations were launched, with ambulances stationed on standby. The District Development Officer (DDO) of Mehsana, Dr. Hasrat Jasmine, confirmed the incident and reported that 9-10 workers were initially trapped. As of the latest update, six bodies have been recovered from the site, and one 19-year-old boy has been rescued alive. The DDO expressed hope that the remaining individuals still trapped would be rescued alive.

The incident has drawn attention and condolences from high-level authorities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sorrow over the accident, offering condolences to the bereaved families and wishing speedy recovery to the injured. He emphasized the local administration's commitment to providing all necessary assistance to the victims, under the supervision of the state government. The wall collapse highlights the importance of safety measures and proper construction practices to prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
