A disturbing incident unfolded in Bengaluru, India, when a 23-year-old man, Harsha Sinha, stabbed a bus conductor after being asked to move away from the vehicle's door. The incident, which occurred near the ITPL bus stop, sent shockwaves through the city and highlighted the growing issue of frustration and aggression among the unemployed population.
Sinha, a native of Jharkhand, had recently lost his job and had been struggling to find new employment for approximately three weeks. This period of unemployment appears to have fueled his frustration, leading to a violent outburst on the BMTC bus. The bus conductor, Yogesh, a 45-year-old man, had politely requested Sinha to step away from the footboard for safety reasons as he was obstructing passengers boarding and disembarking the bus.
However, Sinha reacted violently to the conductor's request, escalating the situation from a verbal altercation to a physical assault. He pulled out a knife from his bag and stabbed the conductor, causing two or three stab wounds. The injured conductor was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition. Meanwhile, panicked passengers fled the bus in fear.
Following the attack, Sinha continued to terrorize the remaining passengers by threatening them and demanding they vacate the bus. He further damaged the bus windows and other property using a hammer. The incident has raised serious concerns about public safety and the potential dangers posed by individuals facing unemployment and frustration.
The incident was captured on video, which was widely shared on social media platforms. This viral video brought the incident to the attention of the authorities and sparked public outrage. The Bengaluru City Police quickly responded to the incident, arresting Sinha and charging him with attempted murder.
During interrogation, Sinha claimed that he did not intend to stab the conductor and attributed his actions to frustration stemming from his unemployment.
