Siddique Murder: Shooter Promised Passport for Escape
  • Shooter promised passport for escape
  • Conspirators paid Rs 50,000 to shooter
  • Multiple modules involved in killing

The murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai has taken a complex turn with the revelation that one of the shooters, Gurnail Singh, was promised a passport based on fake documents to facilitate his escape abroad. This detail underscores the intricate planning and potential international connections involved in the crime.

Police investigations have revealed that the masterminds behind the killing paid Singh Rs 50,000 for his role. Singh, a resident of Haryana, had a previous murder case registered against him in 2019 and was seeking to flee the country to avoid potential conviction. The promise of a passport, facilitated by the conspirators, was a key incentive for his involvement.

The investigation has unearthed multiple modules operating within the broader conspiracy. The initial contract to kill Siddique was awarded to a Thane-based module, led by Nitin Sapre and Ram Kanoujia. However, they backed out after demanding an exorbitant sum of Rs 50 lakh. A subsequent module, involving Singh and his accomplices Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam, took on the task, with Shivkumar and Dharmaraj reportedly receiving Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh for their participation.

The intricate network of individuals involved in the killing extends beyond the shooters. Mohammed Zeeshan Akhtar, identified as the mastermind, is believed to be based in north India and had a connection with Amit Kumar, who facilitated communication between Akhtar and Singh. The Mumbai police suspect that the individuals who ordered the hit on Siddique are also located in north India, given the sourcing of weapons from that region.

The police have arrested 14 individuals in connection with the murder so far, but the investigation continues to unravel the extent of the conspiracy. The promise of a passport for Singh highlights the international dimensions of the crime and raises questions about the potential involvement of organized crime syndicates. The ongoing investigation is crucial in shedding light on the motivations behind the killing and bringing all those responsible to justice.
