Shilpa Shirodkar, a popular actress of the early 1990s, is making a comeback to the public eye by participating in the reality show Bigg Boss 18. While she is known for her acting career, she is also recognized for her familial ties. Shilpa is the younger sister of Namrata Shirodkar and the sister-in-law of renowned Telugu star Mahesh Babu. Although the sisters have kept their personal lives relatively private, Shilpa recently shed light on her close relationship with Namrata and Mahesh in a past interview.
In February 2020, Shilpa spoke candidly about her and Namrata’s journey as actresses. Despite Namrata being the older sister, Shilpa entered the film industry before her and also married earlier, leading to the common misconception that she is the older sibling. As Shilpa explained to National Herald India, “That’s because I did everything before Namrata. I joined films before her. I married before and became a mother first.”
Despite living in different countries, the Shirodkar sisters have maintained a strong bond. Shilpa revealed that their closeness has grown even stronger after the loss of their parents. She emphasized her dedication to being present in India for every film release of her brother-in-law Mahesh Babu, highlighting the importance of family ties and support. She shared, “We became even closer after we lost our parents. I make it a point to be in India for every release of my brother-in-law Mahesh Babu.”
With Shilpa's entry into Bigg Boss 18, fans are eager to learn more about her personal life and experiences. She has revealed that Namrata and Mahesh are very supportive and excited about her journey on the show. Shilpa stated to the Times of India, “(Namrata and Mahesh) are very happy for me. They are very proud of me and they just know that whatever I do, I’ll do it myself. I know I’m going to make them very proud. As a family, we are a very close-knit family. They are very supportive of me.”
Bigg Boss 18 promises to be an entertaining season with a diverse mix of contestants, including Shilpa.
