The Navi Mumbai Police have arrested a man from Haryana for allegedly conducting a recce at actor Salman Khan's farmhouse in Panvel, as part of a second plot to attack the actor. The arrest comes after an FIR was registered on April 24, alleging a conspiracy to attack Khan at his farmhouse. This follows a previous incident where Salman Khan was shot at outside his residence in Bandra, Mumbai on April 14.
According to the Navi Mumbai police, the arrested accused, Sukhbir Balbir Singh alias Sukha, was an arms supplier and was supposed to procure weapons from a Pakistan-based person named Dogar. He was allegedly promised Rs 25 lakh to carry out the hit. The police tracked Sukha down to a hotel in Panipat, where he had changed his appearance by growing his hair and beard.
The police have previously arrested four people allegedly linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is suspected to be involved in both the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai cases. The Bishnoi gang allegedly issued a contract worth Rs 25 lakh to murder Khan, with plans to acquire advanced weapons from Pakistan, including AK-47s, AK-92s, M16 rifles, and the Turkey-made Zigana pistol, which was used to murder Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The gang communicated through a WhatsApp group, with 15-16 members, including Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and others. The plan involved tightened surveillance with 60 to 70 people tracking Khan’s movements.
Lawrence Bishnoi claims that he was targeting Salman Khan as the actor had shot dead blackbucks, revered by the Bishnoi community, in Rajasthan in 1998 during the shooting of a film. The police, however, claim that Bishnoi is trying to gain popularity by threatening and attempting to attack a popular actor.
