Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant visit to Maharashtra on October 5th, 2024, with a packed agenda of launching and inaugurating various development projects across the state. This visit comes amidst the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, scheduled to be announced by the Election Commission soon. The PM's visit signifies the importance of the state in the national political landscape and his government's commitment to bolstering Maharashtra's infrastructure, economic growth, and agricultural sector.

The highlight of the visit will be the inauguration of the Banjara Virasat Museum in Washim, celebrating the rich heritage of the Banjara community. PM Modi will also launch projects worth ₹23,300 crore in the agricultural and animal husbandry sector, demonstrating his focus on empowering farmers. This initiative will encompass the disbursement of the 18th instalment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, amounting to ₹20,000 crore, to approximately 9.4 crore farmers. With this instalment, the total funds disbursed to farmers under the scheme will reach a remarkable ₹3.45 lakh crore.

In Thane, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects valued at over ₹32,800 crore. This includes the much-anticipated BKC-Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line-3, costing around ₹14,120 crore. This section will boast 10 stations, nine of which will be underground, and is expected to significantly improve connectivity and ease congestion in Mumbai's transportation system. PM Modi will also flag off a train on this line and take a ride between BKC and Santacruz stations, symbolizing the progress of this crucial infrastructure project.

Further solidifying his commitment to sustainable development, PM Modi will inaugurate five solar parks with a total capacity of 19 MW across Maharashtra under the 'Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0'. This initiative will contribute to the state's renewable energy targets and promote clean energy solutions in the agricultural sector. The PM will also inaugurate 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) with a combined turnover of around ₹1,300 crore, empowering farmers and fostering collective economic strength.

Other significant projects on the agenda include the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, valued at ₹12,200 crore, aimed at addressing the transportation needs of Thane, a major industrial and commercial hub in the state. This project will encompass 29 km of rail network with 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. Additionally, the PM will lay the foundation stone for the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar, Thane, a project worth around ₹3,310 crore, enhancing connectivity between South Mumbai and Thane.

The visit will also see the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, worth around ₹2,550 crore. This project involves the construction of key infrastructure, including major arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure. Finally, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Thane Municipal Corporation's high-rise administrative building, costing around ₹700 crore. This building will house most of the Municipal offices, streamlining administrative functions.

PM Modi's visit to Maharashtra signifies the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure, promoting economic growth, and empowering farmers. The diverse range of projects launched and inaugurated during this visit is expected to have a long-lasting impact on the state's development trajectory and improve the quality of life for its residents.
