The Prime Minister's Internship Scheme, aimed at providing opportunities for young Indians, has opened its registration process today. This scheme offers a platform for aspiring individuals to gain practical experience and contribute to the nation's growth. The portal, pminternship.mca.gov.in, will be accessible to eligible candidates from 5 pm onwards.

To qualify for the internship program, candidates must possess a high school certificate, a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a degree such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, or BPharma. Additionally, they must fall within the age bracket of 21 to 24 years as of the application deadline. The scheme is open to Indian nationals who are not currently employed in a full-time capacity and are not engaged in full-time studies. Applicants enrolled in online or distance learning courses are also eligible to apply.

The application process is straightforward. Candidates can visit the official website, locate the 'register' option, and fill in the required details. An automated resume is generated based on the information provided, enabling individuals to apply for up to five internship opportunities aligned with their preferences. Notably, there are no fees associated with registration or application.

Interns participating in the scheme will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 for the duration of the 12-month internship. This stipend is jointly funded by the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, with the company contributing Rs 500 and the government contributing Rs 4,500. To further support interns, a one-time financial assistance of Rs 6,000 is provided to cover any incidental expenses.

Beyond financial support, the government ensures that interns are covered under insurance schemes like PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana. The government covers the insurance premiums for these schemes, providing an additional layer of protection for participating individuals.
