The Indian government's PM internship scheme has garnered significant interest, with over 1.5 lakh candidates applying for the program since its launch on Saturday evening. The scheme, overseen by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, aims to enhance the employability of young individuals entering the workforce by providing them with real-world experience at top companies across the country.
The program targets individuals aged 21 to 24, offering them the opportunity to intern at the top 500 companies for a duration of one year. The initiative provides a platform for young professionals to gain valuable skills and knowledge from seasoned industry experts. Moreover, interns receive a monthly allowance of Rs 5,000, along with a one-time grant of Rs 6,000.
The application process is streamlined through the online portal, utilizing Aadhaar-based registration and tools for bio-data generation. The selection process emphasizes objectivity, fairness, inclusivity, and technology-driven measures to ensure a transparent and equitable approach.
