The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has concluded the choice filling process for the stray vacancy round of NEET UG Counselling 2024. This final round for undergraduate medical seats under NEET 2024 commenced on October 25, offering 1,184 seats to aspiring medical students. The MCC has announced that the seat allotment results for this stray vacancy round will be published on October 29, providing much-anticipated news for those vying for the remaining spots.
Candidates who are fortunate enough to secure a seat in this round are required to report to their designated colleges from October 30 to November 5. Before approaching the allocated institution, candidates must ensure they download their allotment letter from the official MCC website. This crucial document serves as confirmation of their assigned seat.
Importantly, candidates must note that failing to take up their assigned seat during this stray vacancy round will result in the forfeiture of their security deposit. Furthermore, they will be ineligible to participate in the NEET exam the following year. Candidates who join the MCC-conducted Round 3 will have their data shared with the state counselling authorities, barring them from registering for state quota counselling.
The stray vacancy round encompasses 15% of seats in all government medical and dental colleges across India. Additionally, it covers 100% of seats in Deemed and Central Universities, ESIC, AFMC, AIIMS and JIPMER.
