Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a strong attack on the Congress party following the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory in the Haryana assembly elections, accused the opposition party of resorting to divisive politics and exploiting Muslim castes for electoral gains. During a foundation laying ceremony for development projects in Haryana, Modi lauded the BJP's third consecutive win, highlighting the public's rejection of Congress' tactics. He claimed that the Congress, along with what he termed 'urban Naxal gangs', had misled the public with false narratives and attempts to divide the society along caste lines.
Modi specifically targeted Congress' alleged exploitation of Muslim castes, accusing the party of remaining silent on internal divisions within the Muslim community while actively playing the caste card within Hindu society. He asserted that Congress leaders deliberately avoid mentioning the existence of different castes among Muslims, instead focusing on highlighting caste differences within the Hindu community to further their political agenda. This strategy, Modi argued, is aimed at stoking tensions and consolidating their vote bank by capitalizing on societal divisions.
Modi further criticized Congress' alleged use of 'hate conspiracies' to incite divisions within the country. He stated that the Congress, by employing divisive tactics, undermines the principle of 'Sarvajan sukhaay, sarvajan hitaay' (Everybody's happiness, everybody's interests) and disrespects Sanatana traditions. He also emphasized the importance of unity and cautioned against the forces that seek to destroy society, calling upon the people of Maharashtra to stand united against divisive forces in the upcoming elections.
