Iran's Missile Attack on Israel 'Didn't Scratch' Air Force: Gallant
  • Israel's defense minister dismisses Iran's missile attack
  • Gallant claims no damage to IAF facilities or capabilities
  • He warns potential aggressors to consider Gaza and Beirut

The recent missile attack from Iran on Israel has sparked tension between the two nations. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has dismissed the attack, claiming it caused no significant damage to the Israeli Air Force (IAF) facilities. In a speech to air and ground teams at the IAF’s Nevatim base, Gallant asserted that the attack did not even “scratch” the capabilities of the Air Force. He emphasized that any potential aggressor seeking to harm Israel should first consider the current situations in Gaza and Beirut.

According to Gallant, no squadrons, planes, or runways were damaged, and the IAF's operational continuity remains intact. This contradicts reports of “isolated” impacts in central and southern Israel, as confirmed by the IDF. However, the IDF maintains that most of the approximately 180 missiles launched by Iran were intercepted or struck open areas, resulting in minimal damage. It is important to note that the alleged reason for the attack was retaliation for the assassination of top Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and IRGC commander Major General Seyyed Abbas Nilforoushan.

Gallant's statement, delivered on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), served as a warning to potential aggressors. He emphasized that any attempt to deter Israel from responding would result in consequences similar to those currently unfolding in Gaza and Beirut. He shared a video of his interaction with troops who have been on high alert for the past year, engaged in both defensive and offensive operations. Further raising tensions, Iran has threatened to target Israeli refineries and gas fields should retaliatory strikes occur.

In response to these threats, Gallant maintained a resolute tone, stating that Israel is “strong, both in defence and attack.” He declared that Israel will respond in a way, time, and place of its choosing. His statement suggests a calculated and strategic approach to any potential conflict, emphasizing that Israel's strength is not limited to words but translated into a concrete work plan.
