Similarly, Abhishek Sharma, another promising batsman, has also failed to impress. He has managed just 15 runs in the first match and 16 runs in the second, leaving much to be desired from a player who is expected to contribute significantly at the top of the order.
The lack of consistency from the openers has put a strain on the middle order, which has been forced to chase down targets with limited overs remaining.
