India Alerts Canada About Khalistani Terrorist
  • India informed Canada about Khalistani terrorist Sandeep Singh Sidhu
  • Sidhu is wanted for murdering Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a Shaurya Chakra awardee
  • Sidhu worked as a border police official in Canada

The Indian government has taken a significant step in alerting Canadian authorities about a Khalistani terrorist, Sandeep Singh Sidhu, who is employed as a border police official in Canada. This alarming revelation highlights the growing concern about the presence of individuals linked to terrorist organizations within the Canadian security apparatus. Sidhu, also known as Sunny, is wanted in India for the murder of Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a recipient of the prestigious Shaurya Chakra, a military decoration awarded for valor. The incident involving Sandhu's murder occurred in October 2020, when he was shot outside his home in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. Sandhu's bravery in combating militancy during the 1990s earned him the Shaurya Chakra, underscoring the gravity of his assassination.

Investigations have revealed that Sidhu's motives behind the murder were deeply rooted in his allegiance to the Khalistani cause and his connection with the Pakistan-based Khalistan Liberation Front (KLF). Evidence suggests that Sidhu was actively engaged in smuggling narcotics and weapons across the border and that Sandhu, recognizing the threat posed by Sidhu's activities, attempted to prevent the illegal operation. This act of defiance led to Sandhu's tragic assassination. Sidhu's links to the ISI, Pakistan's intelligence agency, and his association with Lakhbir Singh Rode, a prominent KLF terrorist based in Pakistan, have further solidified the understanding that his actions were not isolated but part of a larger, well-coordinated network of terror activities.

The promotion of Sandeep Singh Sidhu to the role of a student at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of Canadian security measures. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India, in its investigations, has stated that Khalistani terrorists operating from Canadian soil were the masterminds behind Sandhu's murder. The NIA identified Sukhmeet Pal Singh alias Sukh Bhikariwal, Sunny Toronto (a KLF operative based in Canada), and Lakhveer Singh alias Rode as the individuals who orchestrated the assassination. The revelation that a known terrorist could infiltrate and rise through the ranks of a border security agency raises serious concerns about the potential for future acts of violence and the vulnerability of national security within Canada. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for enhanced security measures and vigilance in addressing the threat posed by transnational terrorist networks.
