Gandhi Blasts NDA Over J&K Security Lapses
  • Rahul Gandhi criticizes NDA's security failures in J&K
  • Terrorist activities, targeted killings plague the state
  • Gandhi demands accountability and action for peace

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, has sharply criticized the NDA government for its perceived failures in ensuring security in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the increasing frequency of terrorist attacks and targeted killings in the region, citing the recent incident where an army vehicle was attacked, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and two army porters in Gulmarg. Gandhi, in a post on X, emphasized that the NDA government's policies have been ineffective in establishing peace and security in the state, contrary to their claims. He asserts that Jammu and Kashmir remains under the shadow of danger due to persistent terrorist activities, attacks on soldiers, and civilian killings.

Gandhi's criticism comes in the wake of a series of violent incidents in the valley. Prior to the attack on the army vehicle, six non-local laborers and a local doctor were killed when terrorists opened fire at a construction site in Gagangir. This incident followed the killing of a laborer from Bihar in Shopian and the shooting of a laborer from Uttar Pradesh in Tral. This string of attacks has undoubtedly heightened security concerns and raised questions about the effectiveness of the current security measures.

Gandhi's call for the government to take immediate accountability and restore peace in the valley reflects the growing public concern over the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He is demanding decisive action from the government to ensure the safety of both the military and civilians. His statement underscores the urgency of addressing the root causes of terrorism in the region and implementing effective security measures to prevent future attacks and restore peace and stability to the state.
