A tragic fire incident in Gurgaon, India, claimed the lives of four cousins who were sleeping in a rented accommodation. The fire, believed to have originated from a short circuit around midnight on Friday, quickly engulfed the room, blocking the exit path and filling it with smoke.
The four victims, identified as Mohammad Mushtaq (28), Noor Alam (27), Sahil (22) and Aman (17), were all from the same family in Bihar, India. Mushtaq and Noor worked as tailors and shared the rented accommodation, while Aman, a Class X student, lived with his family in another room. Sahil had recently come to Gurgaon to visit relatives.
The fire spread rapidly, trapping the four cousins inside the room. Despite the desperate efforts of neighbors who broke down the door, the victims were already unconscious and succumbed to smoke inhalation. Their bodies were severely charred by the time they were pulled out.
Aman's father, Mohammad Mafees, recounted that the entire family had dinner together before retiring to their respective rooms around 11pm. The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the devastating consequences of neglecting them. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
