The watchman stationed at the pandal, who was present until 3 am, had left briefly for a restroom break at a nearby college. It was during this short absence that the perpetrators gained entry to the premises and carried out their act of vandalism. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, A Chandrasekar, attributed the incident to unknown assailants who took advantage of the watchman’s temporary departure.
To apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice, the police have registered a case and initiated a comprehensive investigation. They are diligently examining CCTV footage from the vicinity of the pandal to identify potential suspects.
