A chilling incident unfolded in Hyderabad on Saturday evening, highlighting the dangers of reckless behavior and the potential for catastrophe. An intoxicated individual, identified as Chiran, arrived at a petrol pump in the Nacharam area, carrying a cigarette lighter. An employee at the station, Arun, noticing the potential hazard, asked Chiran if he intended to light the lighter. In a moment of reckless disregard, Chiran was challenged by Arun, who allegedly dared him to light the lighter, questioning his 'guts' to do so.
Tragically, Chiran succumbed to the provocation and lit the lighter while Arun was dispensing fuel into a scooter. The immediate result was a burst of flames, sending a wave of panic and fear through the people present at the petrol pump. There were approximately 10 to 11 individuals, including two employees, who were eyewitnesses to this terrifying event. CCTV footage captured the incident, showcasing the terrifying moment as a woman and a child standing near the fire narrowly escaped the inferno, while others fled in fear.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the grave consequences of reckless actions, particularly in environments where flammable materials are present.
