Delhi CRPF School Blast: Police Probe Khalistani Link
  • Delhi Police investigates a possible Khalistani link to a blast near a CRPF school.
  • A Telegram group, 'Justice League India,' claimed responsibility for the blast.
  • Police are investigating the incident and have recovered CCTV footage of a suspect.

The recent blast near a CRPF school in Delhi has sparked a major security concern, with police actively investigating a potential Khalistani link to the incident. The explosion, which occurred on Sunday morning, caused damage to the school wall, nearby shops, and parked vehicles, but thankfully resulted in no injuries. While the incident itself was significant, the subsequent investigation has taken a particularly alarming turn due to the surfacing of a Telegram group claiming responsibility for the blast.

The group, known as "Justice League India," posted a message on Telegram stating that the explosion was carried out in retaliation for the alleged targeting of pro-Khalistan separatists by Indian agents. This message, shared with a "Khalistan Zindabad" watermark, further fuelled speculation about the involvement of pro-Khalistan separatists. In response to this development, the Delhi Police has contacted Telegram, requesting information about the group's creator and any associated activities.

Beyond the online claim of responsibility, the police have gathered physical evidence from the scene, including CCTV footage of a suspect captured the night before the blast. This footage, depicting a person wearing a white T-shirt, is crucial to the ongoing investigation. The police believe the perpetrator utilized an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) concealed in a pit near the school wall, highlighting the deliberate nature of the attack. Investigations are underway to determine the exact composition of the explosive substance used.

Multiple police units, including the Special Cell, Crime Branch, and local police, are actively involved in the investigation. The incident has been registered as an FIR under sections related to mischief with severe consequences to public safety, prevention of damage to public property, and explosives. The FIR also details the damage caused by the blast, including a hole in the school wall, broken windowpanes, and damaged signboards. Samples collected from the scene have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis to determine the specific type of explosive used.

The Delhi Police are utilizing all available resources to thoroughly investigate the incident and identify the perpetrators. The potential involvement of Khalistani separatists adds another layer of complexity to the investigation. While the blast itself did not result in casualties, the potential for future attacks and the unsettling message behind the Telegram post highlight the importance of swift action to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of the public.
