Delhi CM Residence Sealed, AAP Accuses BJP
  • Delhi CM's residence sealed by PWD.
  • AAP alleges Atishi's belongings removed.
  • CMO blames BJP for the action.

The political landscape in Delhi took a dramatic turn on Wednesday as the PWD department sealed the official residence of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, citing charges of illegal use. This move followed Arvind Kejriwal's resignation from the post of Delhi Chief Minister, which led to the vacating of the residence. Atishi subsequently moved into the residence upon assuming the role of Chief Minister, sparking a dispute over the vacating and handover of the CM house, ultimately prompting the PWD's action.

The AAP, through the CMO, issued a strong statement condemning the sealing as a forceful eviction orchestrated by the BJP. They alleged that the Lieutenant Governor (LG) was seeking to allocate the residence to a BJP leader, marking the first instance in India's history where a Chief Minister's residence was vacated by force. The CMO further emphasized that Atishi's belongings were forcibly removed from the residence, previously occupied by her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal, adding fuel to the accusations of political maneuvering.

While the LG office and the BJP haven't responded to these allegations, AAP MP Sanjay Singh earlier in the day claimed that officials refused to allocate the bungalow to Atishi and even vacated her camp office at the residence. The CMO, in their statement, painted a stark picture, claiming that the LG was preparing to hand over the CM residence to a prominent BJP leader, effectively asserting that the BJP, absent from Delhi politics for 27 years, was attempting to claim the CM residence. The unfolding events in Delhi highlight a deepening political battleground with the AAP accusing the BJP of using government machinery to further their political ambitions.
