Delhi CM Atishi Evicted from Residence on LG's Orders
  • Atishi, Delhi CM, evicted from official residence.
  • LG Saxena ordered belongings removal, claims Atishi's office.
  • Kejriwal's former residence 'Sheesh Mahal' sealed.

The ongoing political feud between Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken a new turn, with Atishi, the current Chief Minister, being evicted from her official residence on the LG's orders. Atishi's office claims that her belongings were forcefully removed from the residence at '6, Flag Staff Road' in Civil Lines, Delhi. This development has further escalated the tensions between the two political figures. Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP president, Virendra Sachdeva, alleged that Kejriwal's former residence, referred to as 'Sheesh Mahal,' was sealed and that it contained hidden secrets. Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of attempting to reclaim the bungalow even after handing over the keys and moving to another residence, stating that the handover to Atishi was unconstitutional.

The Delhi Assembly leader of opposition, Vijender Gupta, echoed Sachdeva's sentiments and demanded an investigation into the entire incident. Gupta claimed that Kejriwal's 'sheesh mahal' was sealed after his PwD employees surrendered to their demands. He questioned the motives behind the relocation of the current Chief Minister to the bungalow and the lack of protocol in the bungalow's handover. Gupta accused Kejriwal of trying to conceal something within 'Sheesh Mahal'.

The events surrounding the eviction unfolded after Kejriwal resigned from his post as Chief Minister last week and moved to 5, Ferozeshah Road, a residence allocated to AAP MP Ashok Mittal. Despite the move, the Public Works Department (PWD) sent a letter to Kejriwal requesting him to hand over the keys to the former Chief Minister's residence. The department cited ongoing vigilance cases related to construction at the bungalow as the reason for the request, claiming it was 'necessary' to inspect the house and assess its inventory before allotting it to someone else. The department's letter implies concerns about potential discrepancies or irregularities in the construction of the bungalow, leading to a demand for thorough inspection.

The current situation underscores the deep divide between the Delhi LG and the ruling AAP government. The eviction of Atishi from her official residence and the sealing of Kejriwal's former residence are seen as tactics in a political power struggle. The public is left to speculate about the true motives behind the actions and the implications for the political landscape in Delhi. The accusations of 'hidden secrets' and 'unconstitutional actions' have fueled public curiosity and raised concerns about transparency and accountability within the government. The ongoing investigations and the responses from both sides will undoubtedly shape the future trajectory of this political conflict and its potential impact on the lives of the people of Delhi.
