The bomb threat was reportedly received through a tweet directed at the official Twitter handle of Alliance Air. It is noteworthy that the threat was not limited to Alliance Air, as multiple airports and airlines were also targeted on Twitter. Despite the disruption, Alliance Air flight, which operates as a circular service from Salem via Kochi to Bengaluru, eventually departed at 5.29 p.m., a delay of over an hour.
