BJP Wins Haryana Assembly Elections, CSDS Survey Analyzes Results
  • BJP won Haryana Assembly elections.
  • Congress lost power to BJP.
  • CSDS survey explains results.

The 2024 Haryana Assembly elections witnessed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing a decisive victory, marking their third consecutive win in the state. This outcome dealt a significant blow to the Indian National Congress (INC), which had been vying for power. The BJP's triumph was particularly pronounced, with the party securing 48 out of the 90 Assembly seats, their strongest performance in Haryana's electoral history. The Congress, on the other hand, managed to secure only 37 seats, indicating a substantial setback in their efforts to reclaim power.

The Lokniti-Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) survey, conducted during the election period, offers valuable insights into the factors that shaped the electoral outcome. The pre-poll survey was conducted between September 24 and October 2, encompassing 22 Assembly constituencies and 110 polling stations. A total of 2,429 respondents were interviewed, providing a substantial dataset for analysis. The survey results highlight the electorate's preferences and concerns, shedding light on the key drivers of the BJP's success and the Congress's shortcomings.

The CSDS survey, through its analysis of voter sentiment and political dynamics, presents a compelling narrative of the Haryana Assembly elections. The survey's findings demonstrate the BJP's adeptness in mobilizing their base, while highlighting the Congress's struggles to effectively counter the BJP's campaign. This detailed analysis provides a valuable resource for understanding the political landscape of Haryana and the factors that influenced the outcome of the 2024 elections.
