BJP Accuses Tejashwi of Theft, RJD Denies
  • BJP accuses RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of stealing furniture from government bungalow
  • RJD refutes allegations, calls them false and politically motivated
  • BJP demands probe into alleged theft, highlighting Yadav's 'mentality'

The political scene in Bihar has been embroiled in a heated exchange of accusations between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) over allegations of furniture theft from a government bungalow. The BJP, alleging that former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav had absconded with furniture, including beds, sofas, and even taps, from the bungalow before vacating it, has launched a scathing attack on Yadav's character and integrity. However, the RJD has vehemently denied these allegations, calling them false and politically motivated.

The controversy stems from the bungalow at 5 Deshratna Road in Patna, which was vacated by Tejashwi Yadav. Danish Iqbal, the BJP's Media In-charge in Bihar, accused Yadav and his associates of removing various items, including the bed, air conditioner, lights, and even the washroom taps. He further claimed that the badminton court mat, fountain lights, and sofas were also missing. This, according to Iqbal, reflects poorly on Yadav's 'mentality' and upbringing.

The RJD has vehemently refuted these claims, with MP Sudhakar Singh demanding that the government release a list of the items provided to the bungalow. He argued that the BJP, being in power, should be able to verify the presence of these items and clear any confusion. Singh also accused the BJP of manipulating media narratives by suppressing news about the arrest of an NIA DSP by the CBI for accepting bribes in Bihar. The RJD maintains that the BJP's accusations are merely a tactic to divert attention from its own shortcomings and to smear the image of its political opponents.

The controversy has further intensified with Union Minister Giriraj Singh, hailing from Bihar, joining the chorus of condemnation against the RJD leadership. Singh has demanded a detailed investigation into the alleged theft and the financial expenditure incurred on the bungalow during Yadav's occupancy. He called for the formation of an inquiry committee to ascertain the extent of the 'theft' and even suggested filing a case against Yadav. These demands have further inflamed the political atmosphere in Bihar, raising the stakes in this ongoing battle between the BJP and the RJD.
