A chilling case reminiscent of the Bollywood film 'Drishyam' has unfolded in Nagpur, India, where an Army jawan, Ajay Wankhede, has been arrested for the murder of his girlfriend, Jyotsna Aakre. The crime, meticulously planned and executed, involved Wankhede allegedly sedating, strangling, and burying Aakre's body in a secluded location, later covering it with cement to conceal the crime.
The investigation began on August 29th when Aakre's family reported her missing after she failed to return home from work. The police initiated an investigation and traced regular phone calls between Aakre and Wankhede, leading them to suspect his involvement. During interrogation, Wankhede confessed to the crime and revealed the location of the body. The body parts were subsequently exhumed on Monday near Dongargaon toll plaza on Wardha road in Nagpur, confirming the horrific details of the murder.
Wankhede, stationed in Nagaland, had met Aakre, a divorcee, through a marriage portal. Their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship, but Wankhede's family opposed their union and he was subsequently married off to another woman. This opposition, combined with his desire to rid himself of Aakre, appears to have been the driving force behind the murder. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the dangers of unchecked romantic relationships and the potential consequences of family pressure in matters of love and marriage.
