Anmol Bishnoi: Most Wanted for High-Profile Crimes
  • Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, is wanted by the NIA.
  • He is accused of involvement in several high-profile cases.
  • Bishnoi is believed to be in Canada after fleeing India.

Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has become a prominent figure in the Indian criminal underworld. He has been placed on the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) most wanted list, with a Rs 10 lakh reward offered for his capture. Bishnoi's name has surfaced in connection with several high-profile crimes, including the murder of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala in 2022, the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence in Mumbai, and the killing of politician Baba Siddique earlier this year.

Bishnoi, hailing from Fazilka in Punjab, has been charged in two cases registered by the NIA in 2022. He is accused of fleeing India using a fake passport last year and is currently believed to be residing in Canada. With at least 18 cases pending against him, Bishnoi's alleged role in the Sidhu Moosewala murder has drawn significant attention. According to reports, he provided weapons and logistical support to the individuals who carried out the shooting near Moosewala's village in Punjab's Mansa district. The murder was claimed by Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who attributed it to revenge for the death of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Muddukhera.

Anmol Bishnoi has also been implicated in the shooting incident outside Salman Khan's residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. A chargesheet filed in this case alleges that Bishnoi motivated the shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, with a nine-minute speech prior to the attack. Bishnoi reportedly told the shooters that they were on a mission to create history and that they would be remembered for their actions. He also assured them that they had the blessings of Lord Ram and that he would take full responsibility for their actions. The chargesheet further states that the plan for the attack was conceived in August 2022 and finalized in April 2023.

Following the shooting incident, a Mumbai court issued a non-bailable warrant against Bishnoi. He has also been linked to the murder of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and three-time MLA, who was shot dead on Dussehra in October 2023 outside his son's office. Officials have stated that Bishnoi was in contact with the shooters in this case as well. While two of the shooters, Gurmail Baljit Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended shortly after the murder, Shiv Kumar Gautam, also from Uttar Pradesh, remains at large. The NIA's pursuit of Anmol Bishnoi underscores the gravity of the crimes he is accused of and the seriousness with which the Indian authorities are taking these investigations.
