The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as observers for the election of the BJP legislative party leader in Haryana. This appointment was confirmed through a letter issued by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh, highlighting the significant role both leaders will play in the election process.

The BJP secured a historic victory in Haryana, winning 48 seats in the recent assembly elections. This victory marks the party's third consecutive term in the state, with Nayab Singh Saini, the first OBC chief minister of Haryana, credited for the success. Saini implemented various populist measures and quotas, effectively overcoming anti-incumbency and exit poll predictions.

The BJP legislative party meeting will take place in Chandigarh on Wednesday and Thursday. All BJP MLAs have been asked to be present at the meeting, where they will announce their leader of the House for the Haryana assembly. Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli has issued a communication to all BJP MLAs, ensuring their presence and making arrangements for their stay in the state capital.

In a related development, BJP's state unit leadership has arrived in Panchkula to oversee arrangements for the oath-taking ceremony of Nayab Singh Saini and his cabinet, scheduled at Parade Ground in Sector 5 on Thursday. The ceremony is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar, Dharmendera Pradhan, and Rajnath Singh, as well as chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, including Yogi Adityanath of UP, Bhajan Lal Sharma of Rajasthan, and Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh.

The core committee of BJP's election committee and Haryana affairs met on Saturday night to decide on the size of the cabinet. This meeting underscores the BJP's proactive approach in ensuring a smooth transition of power in Haryana, following their resounding victory in the state elections.
