Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries, recently embarked on a spiritual journey to the revered Himalayan shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand. This visit, undertaken on Sunday, underscores the prominent industrialist's commitment to spirituality and tradition. Upon arriving at Badrinath, Ambani was warmly welcomed by Ajendra Ajay, the President of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). He adorned himself in a traditional white kurta pyjama paired with a beige Nehru jacket, demonstrating his respect for the sanctity of the sites.
As one of India's most influential business leaders, Ambani's visit to these holy sites carries significant weight. The Badrinath Dham, nestled amidst the breathtaking Himalayan landscape, holds immense significance for Hindus as it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. During his pilgrimage, Ambani participated in sacred rituals and sought blessings at the revered temple. Demonstrating his dedication to supporting religious institutions, he generously donated ₹5 crore to the Badri-Kedar temple committee following his prayers. This act of philanthropy reflects his deep-rooted belief in the importance of religious institutions and their role in society.
Ambani's visit to Kedarnath and Badrinath coincides with the upcoming closure of the Char Dham Yatra. The Kedarnath temple is scheduled to close on November 3, while the Badrinath temple will shut its doors on November 17, marking the end of the pilgrimage season. The Char Dham Yatra, encompassing Yamunotri and Gangotri, will also come to a close, with Yamunotri scheduled to close on October 24 and Gangotri on October 26. Notably, this year's Char Dham Yatra started with a delay of 17 days from May 10, compared to last year's opening on April 23. The doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were opened on April 23, followed by Kedarnath on April 25 and Badrinath Dham on April 27. This year, the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath Dham were opened on May 10, while the journey to Badrinath Dham commenced on May 12. The pilgrimage will continue till November of this year.
