Aaditya Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), has declared a net worth of ₹21 crore in his nomination papers for the Worli assembly constituency in the upcoming Maharashtra elections. This represents a significant increase from the ₹16 crore he declared in the 2019 elections. The declaration reflects the growth of his assets, a blend of self-acquired and inherited wealth, as he seeks re-election in the upcoming polls.
Thackeray's net worth breakdown includes ₹15.43 crore in movable assets and ₹6.04 crore in immovable assets. Among his movable assets are ₹37,344 in cash, ₹2.8 crore in bank deposits, ₹10 crore invested in mutual funds and shares, a 2013-registered BMW car valued at ₹4.21 lakh, and ₹1.9 crore worth of jewelry. His immovable assets include ₹3.27 crore in self-acquired properties and ₹2.7 crore in inherited properties.
The declaration of his assets comes as the Shiv Sena (UBT) prepares for the November 20 elections. Thackeray, the former minister for tourism, protocol, and environment, is seeking to retain his seat in the Worli constituency. He first won this seat in the 2019 elections, becoming the first member of the Thackeray family to contest and win an election. The upcoming elections are expected to be closely contested, with the Shiv Sena (UBT) aiming to regain its political foothold in the state.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on November 20, and the votes will be counted on November 23. With the declaration of his assets, Aaditya Thackeray enters the electoral fray, seeking to continue his political journey and contribute to the development of the state.
