Thalapathy Vijay's latest film, 'Greatest of All Time' (GOAT), has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024, surpassing other notable releases like 'Raayan', 'Maharaja', and 'Indian 2'. The film, despite receiving mixed reviews upon its release, has managed to resonate with audiences, driving strong box office collections. Within its first four days of release, GOAT has amassed an impressive Rs 137.2 crore in domestic box office collections, according to Sacnilk. This figure includes Rs 121.05 crore from the Tamil version, Rs 8.3 crore from the Hindi version, and Rs 7.85 crore from the Telugu version. The film's strong performance over the weekend, with collections of Rs 33.5 crore and Rs 34.2 crore on Day 3 and Day 4 respectively, played a crucial role in propelling it to the top spot. The film is now poised to cross the Rs 150 crore mark domestically.
GOAT's success extends beyond domestic borders. The film has garnered a significant worldwide gross of Rs 126 crore on its opening day, according to a Moneycontrol report. Notably, in North America alone, the film has already crossed a gross of $3 million. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT marks Thalapathy Vijay's second last film before his shift to politics.
