NEET UG Counselling 2024: Round 2 Registration Extended
  • NEET UG Counselling 2024 Round 2 registration extended
  • Choice filling deadline extended to September 16
  • Seat allotment results to be announced on September 19

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced an extension to the registration period for Round 2 of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) counselling for 2024. This extension aims to accommodate new seats that have been added to the counselling process due to fresh Letters of Permission (LoPs) issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

The extended registration period allows candidates who were unable to secure a seat during the first round of counselling to participate in Round 2. The choice filling process for Round 2 will now conclude on September 16. The PwD portal, which provides accommodations for candidates with disabilities, has also been activated and will remain accessible until noon on September 16. Candidates can access the official website of the MCC (mcc.nic.in) to register for Round 2. The website outlines the steps for registration, including creating a new login, filling out the application form, paying the registration fee, and downloading a copy for future reference.

Following the extended registration period, the seat allotment results for Round 2 will be announced on September 19. Successful candidates will then be required to report to the allotted colleges for further admission procedures and document verification. These procedures include the submission of necessary documents and completion of the admission process.

The NEET UG Counselling process is crucial for aspiring medical students in India, as it determines their admission into various undergraduate medical programs. The MCC conducts four rounds of counselling for the All India Quota (15 per cent), deemed universities, central universities, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Institutes, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry and Karaikal. These rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Online Stray Vacancy Round, aim to ensure that all eligible candidates have a fair opportunity to secure admission into medical institutions.
