The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 counselling is anticipated to commence shortly, with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) set to announce the official schedule. This counselling process is the crucial stage for aspiring doctors to secure seats in prestigious medical colleges across India for postgraduate medical courses, including Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Postgraduate Diploma, and Diplomate of National Board – Centralised Entrance Test (DNB CET).
The MCC will oversee the counselling for 50% of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats available at government, private, and government-aided medical colleges. This decision was made to address the issue of vacant seats, which have been a recurring concern in previous years. The NEET PG 2023 cut-off scores varied across categories. General and EWS candidates needed a minimum score of 291, while General-PwBD students required 274. SC, ST, and OBC category candidates, including those with PwBD status, needed a minimum score of 257.
It's important to note that candidates are allowed to submit the NEET PG Counselling application/registration form only once. If any candidate is found to have submitted multiple applications, their candidature will be disqualified, and the MCC will take necessary action. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they carefully fill out the form accurately and avoid any duplication.
