The tragic news of the untimely demise of Anika Rastogi, a promising law student and daughter of a senior IPS officer with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has sent shockwaves through the community. Anika, a third-year BA-LLB (Hons) student at the Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in Lucknow, was found dead in her hostel room on Saturday night. The incident has sparked widespread grief and concern, prompting authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to university authorities, Anika was last seen alive at around 9.30 pm on Saturday, after attending a client counselling event at the university guest house. However, when her roommate returned to the hostel at 10 pm, she found the room locked from inside. Despite repeated calls, Anika did not respond, leading her roommate to alert the hostel staff. Upon breaking down the door, they discovered Anika unresponsive. Medical personnel were immediately summoned, but unfortunately, Anika was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation suggests that Anika's death may have been caused by cardiac arrest. However, the official cause of death will be confirmed by the postmortem report. The victim's family has not yet filed a police report, and further investigations will be conducted based on the findings of the postmortem. The university has expressed its deepest condolences to Anika's family and offered its support during this difficult time.
