The release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar Jail sparked celebration amongst the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Kejriwal's release followed the Supreme Court's decision to grant him bail. The court's ruling came after a hearing where it imposed certain restrictions on Kejriwal. He was required to submit a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh and provide two sureties. Furthermore, the Supreme Court mandated that Kejriwal refrain from making public statements about the merits of the case. The court also applied conditions similar to those imposed on him in a previous case involving the Enforcement Directorate (ED), prohibiting him from visiting his office, the Delhi Secretariat, or signing any official file without the Lieutenant Governor's permission.
