Joshi Accuses Congress of Double Standard on Modi's Ganesh Puja Visit
  • Joshi criticizes Congress for double standard on Modi's Ganapati visit.
  • He questions Congress's opposition to Modi's participation in Ganesh celebrations.
  • Joshi also condemns police action against Hindu youth in Nagamangala.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has launched a scathing critique of the Congress party, accusing them of hypocrisy in their stance regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud for Ganapati Puja. Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Joshi highlighted what he perceives as a double standard on the part of Congress, drawing a parallel between the current situation and an incident during Manmohan Singh's tenure as Prime Minister. Joshi pointed out that during Singh's time, the then Chief Justice of India had been invited to participate in an Iftar organized by Congress. He questioned the rationale behind Congress's current objection to Modi's participation in Ganesh festivities at the Chief Justice's residence.

Joshi emphasized that Modi's visit was at the invitation of the Chief Justice, highlighting the socio-religious nature of the event. He asserted that there is no restriction preventing the Prime Minister from attending such gatherings and accused Congress of using this event for its vote-bank politics. Joshi further claimed that Congress's opposition to Modi's worship of Lord Ganesh is indicative of an anti-Hindu bias. He went on to condemn the violence that erupted during a Ganesh idol procession in Nagamangala, questioning the logic behind prohibiting music in front of a mosque or dargah during a procession. Joshi alleged that Congress's stance on this matter suggests an intent to turn Karnataka into another Pakistan, furthering his claim of an anti-Hindu agenda by the party.

Joshi also condemned the police action of making a Hindu youth the primary accused in the violence case, warning the Superintendent of Police of Mandya against succumbing to political pressure. He asserted that his party would fight this issue and see it through to its logical conclusion. Turning his attention to Rahul Gandhi's recent speeches in the US, Joshi accused the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha of defaming India during his foreign visits and repeatedly questioning the Election Commission of India. He highlighted Gandhi's family's aspirations for the Prime Minister's post, suggesting that if Congress is truly committed to social justice, they should declare Mallikarjun Kharge as their Prime Ministerial candidate. Joshi concluded his remarks by expressing his belief in the Indian judicial system, citing Arvind Kejriwal's recent bail release as an example of the judiciary operating according to law.
