The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, outlining a comprehensive plan for the region's future. The manifesto, unveiled by Union Minister Amit Shah, focuses on eradicating terrorism, fostering women-led development, and creating employment opportunities.

A key theme running through the manifesto is the eradication of terrorism and separatism. The BJP pledges to continue its efforts to dismantle terror networks and ensure lasting peace in the region. This commitment is underscored by the promise to release a white paper identifying those responsible for the emergence of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The manifesto also credits the abolishment of Article 370, a controversial move by the BJP government, for bringing about peace, progress, and social justice in the region. Despite opposition from Congress, the BJP maintains that Article 370 pushed the youth of Jammu and Kashmir toward violence and has no plans to restore it.

The manifesto also highlights the importance of women-led development. The BJP proposes initiatives like the 'Maa Samman Yojana,' offering an annual stipend of Rs 18,000 to the eldest woman in each household, and providing support for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) regarding interest on bank loans. These measures aim to empower women and enhance their economic participation in the region.

Recognizing the need for employment opportunities, the BJP promises to create 5 lakh jobs under the Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Rozgar Yojana (PPNDRY). Additionally, the 'Pragati Shiksha Yojana' will provide an annual travel allowance of Rs 3,000 for college students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), facilitating access to education in remote areas.

The manifesto includes other significant promises, such as the distribution of two free LPG cylinders per year under the Ujjwala scheme, the provision of 5 marlas of free land to landless beneficiaries under the Atal Awas Yojana, and a scheme to alleviate outstanding electricity and water bills for all consumers. The BJP also pledges to triple the old age, widow, and disability pensions from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000, ensuring a dignified life for vulnerable groups.

The BJP's manifesto also focuses on enhancing infrastructure and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. It proposes transforming Dal Lake in Srinagar into a world-class tourist destination with enhanced water sports facilities. The manifesto also calls for the establishment of an amusement park at Tattoo Ground in Srinagar and the creation of an IT hub in Jammu city as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Furthermore, the BJP promises to address the issues faced by 7,000 existing MSME units in Jammu and Kashmir by improving access to land and public utilities.

Overall, the BJP's manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is a comprehensive document that addresses various aspects of the region's development. It promises to tackle terrorism, promote women's empowerment, create employment opportunities, improve infrastructure, and provide social welfare support. The BJP is seeking a five-year mandate to implement these promises and usher in a new era of prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
