The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory for Telangana, predicting heavy rainfall in various districts on September 9th. The alert highlights the potential for both heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds across the state. Specifically, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial districts have been placed under an orange alert, indicating the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas. Meanwhile, seven other districts, including Adilabad, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam, are under a yellow alert, signifying the possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated locations.
The IMD bulletin underscores the potential for widespread thunderstorms and gusty winds across all districts of Telangana. This suggests a heightened risk of localized flooding and damage to infrastructure, particularly in areas with low-lying terrain or inadequate drainage systems. It is crucial for residents of these districts to remain vigilant and stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
In the capital city of Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the IMD forecasts a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms over the next 24 hours. Temperatures are expected to remain relatively comfortable, with a maximum of 23°C and a minimum of 19°C. While the rainfall in Hyderabad is anticipated to be less intense compared to other districts, residents should still be prepared for potential disruptions due to rain and thunderstorms.
