The internet was abuzz with speculation about a possible romantic relationship between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after a photo of them together at an event went viral. The photo, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, showed Musk and Meloni seated at a table, sparking questions about their connection. However, Musk swiftly put an end to the rumors, clarifying that there was no romantic involvement between them.
In response to the speculation, Musk took to X to address the rumors directly. He stated, “We are not dating”, emphasizing the lack of any romantic relationship between him and Meloni. He further clarified the situation in a separate reply to another user, stating, “I was there with my Mom. There is no romantic relationship whatsoever with PM Meloni.” Musk's statements aimed to dispel the swirling rumors and set the record straight about his relationship with the Italian Prime Minister.
The rumors about Musk and Meloni's relationship intensified after Musk had praised Meloni at an awards ceremony in New York on September 24th. While presenting the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award to Meloni, Musk made a public statement about her character. He remarked, “She's also someone who is authentic, honest, truthful - and that can't always be said about politicians,” according to Bloomberg. Meloni, in turn, shared Musk's post on X, thanking him for his comments. The combination of their public appearances, Musk's praise, and Meloni's acknowledgment fueled speculation about a possible romantic connection, ultimately leading to Musk's public denial.
