The North Campus, a hub of activity, witnessed the arrival of thousands of students and their families, eager to begin this exciting chapter in their academic journeys. The university, in its commitment to create a welcoming and supportive environment for its new students, had taken meticulous steps to ensure a seamless transition. The campus was adorned with vibrant posters and anti-ragging campaigns, visually reinforcing the university's commitment to a safe and inclusive environment. Police personnel were strategically stationed outside to manage the influx of people and prevent any untoward incidents, while inside, senior students and volunteers extended warm greetings to the freshers with chocolates and flowers, creating a comforting atmosphere.
This year, Delhi University, with its diverse range of 1,500 undergraduate programs, has welcomed over 65,000 students, filling 71,600 seats across its 69 colleges. However, the admission process is ongoing, with a third round scheduled for performance-based programs and supernumerary quotas. This includes admissions for children and widows of armed forces personnel, extra-curricular activities, and sports, further highlighting the university's commitment to inclusivity and providing opportunities for diverse talents. Students are required to finalize their college and course selections through the Delhi University CSAS portal by August 30. This online portal, serving as a centralized platform, ensures transparency and efficiency in the admission process.
