The tragic death of a Delhi Police constable, Sandeep Malik, has sent shockwaves through the city. While on routine patrol in Nangloi, West Delhi, the 30-year-old constable was brutally killed in a hit-and-run incident that has sparked outrage and questions about the safety of law enforcement officers. According to police reports, Sandeep was patrolling in civilian clothes due to an increase in theft cases, when he encountered two men drinking in a parked car at a railway yard parking lot. After asking them to leave, an altercation ensued, escalating into a deadly confrontation.

The suspects, identified as Dharmender and Rajnish, initially refused to leave the area when Sandeep approached them. An argument broke out, and Sandeep reprimanded Dharmender, warning him of the legal consequences for their actions. Angered by Sandeep's intervention, Dharmender drove off in the car, with Sandeep following on his motorcycle. The accused men then waited outside Veena Enclave, anticipating Sandeep's arrival. CCTV footage corroborated police accounts, revealing that the constable was intentionally run over by the suspects without any provocation.

Around 2:15 am, Dharmender's car reversed slightly before stopping. As Sandeep approached on his motorcycle, the suspects followed him and intentionally ran him over. The impact caused Sandeep to lose control and crash between the Wagon R car and another vehicle. Despite being rushed to two hospitals, Sandeep succumbed to his injuries. His body was subsequently handed over to his family after an autopsy.

While the police initially dismissed any connection to organized crime, a subsequent revelation from the police diary entry added a layer of complexity to the case. The entry mentioned a liquor supplier named Jangra being involved, suggesting potential pressure on Sandeep to 'get work done.' However, the police maintained that the attack was intentional and that the suspects were involved in property rentals and running a general store. The conflicting accounts and the potential involvement of a liquor supplier raise questions about the true motives behind Sandeep's death and whether there are deeper forces at play.

The incident has brought to light the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty. Sandeep's death serves as a stark reminder of the sacrifices made by those who work tirelessly to protect the public. The investigation into Sandeep's death is ongoing, with police focusing on identifying the motives behind the attack and ensuring that justice is served. This tragic incident has highlighted the need for greater safety measures for law enforcement officers and has sparked a conversation about the importance of protecting those who protect us.
