The world of cricket was shaken by news of a serious road accident involving promising young batsman Musheer Khan, younger brother of Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan. The incident, which occurred on the outskirts of Lucknow on Saturday, September 28, has left the cricketing community concerned about Khan's well-being and his recovery.

According to reports, Musheer and his father, Naushad, were traveling to Lucknow for the upcoming Irani Cup match when their car collided with a divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway. The impact resulted in Musheer sustaining a neck fracture, while his father thankfully suffered only minor injuries. Both were rushed to Medanta Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention under the supervision of Dr. Dharmendra Singh.

Despite the severity of the accident, both Musheer and his father have shown signs of recovery and are in stable condition. In an emotional video shared on Instagram by Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer and Naushad expressed their gratitude to the Almighty for their survival, their well-wishers, fans, and relatives for their prayers and support. They also extended their thanks to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for their unwavering support during this difficult time.

The MCA has assured fans that Musheer is receiving the best possible care and is being closely monitored by their medical team. Once deemed fit to travel, Musheer will be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation and treatment. However, the injury is expected to sideline him for a significant period, potentially three months or more. This unfortunate setback will unfortunately rule him out of the upcoming Irani Cup, which begins on October 1.

The accident has undoubtedly cast a shadow over the start of Musheer's domestic season, which began with impressive performances. He had notably scored a century for India B in the Duleep Trophy and contributed significantly to Mumbai's Ranji Trophy victory earlier this year. While the focus remains on his recovery and well-being, the cricketing community anxiously awaits his return to the field, hoping for a speedy and complete recovery.
