The first edition of the IIFA Utsavam, a celebration of Southern cinema, saw megastar Chiranjeevi honored for his remarkable contribution to Indian cinema. The event, held in Abu Dhabi, saw the legendary actor being presented the award by veteran Hindi film personalities Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, further highlighting the importance of recognizing talent across the diverse landscape of Indian cinema.
Chiranjeevi's career began in 1978, and he has since starred in numerous critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. Some of his most notable works include 'Swayam Krushi', 'Rudraveena', 'Indra', 'Tagore', 'Gang Leader', and 'Aapathbandavudu'. In recent years, he has captivated audiences with his performances in films like 'Waltair Veerayya', 'GodFather', and 'Bhola Shankar'. The IIFA Utsavam, in its inaugural edition, aimed to bring together the vibrant Southern film industries - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The event not only celebrated the achievements of prominent figures like Chiranjeevi but also aimed to promote and showcase the diverse talents and stories that these industries have to offer to a global audience. The second day of the event was dedicated to Hindi films, while the third day focused on the Music Awards, reiterating the overarching goal of celebrating the magic of storytelling and the unifying power of music across different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
